Presley Power

The Pittsburgh Pirates have a secret weapon. A weapon so secret, and so amazing, hes not listed in the 2010 baseball prospectus. Yet he is the key to the pirates success. What is his name? Why of course. I know im alone when I say this, but Alex Presley IS THE HEART AND SOUL OF THE PIRATES! You may have not heard of him, but he is the best player in the majors, trust me. He only has had 86 AB this year, due to an injury after a mid-season call up, but he has hit in 28 of them, and 9 of them have been for extra bases, including 3 triples. His on base percentage is .392, he has 4 stolen bases in 6 attempts, and has a slugging percentage of .477. All in all, in 86 times to the plate, he has had 41 total bases, a shade under 1 base per at bat. He also gave life to the outfield that lacked it, making hard plays look easy, and put more speed in the pirates line-up. When Presley got injured, the pirates started slumping, and dipped below .500 again. Conciedence? Maybe, but I like to think not. Sure he only has 10 RBI's, but HES BATTING LEAD OFF OR SECOND FOR THE PIRATES, he doesn't get a lot of runners in scoring position. And here is the best part, hes not even a rookie yet, that's right, even though hes played this long, he doesn't have the minimum at bats required for eligibility. So next year, who is my rookie of the year candidate? You guessed it, Bryce Harper.
